Little man walking

Yesterday I had my weekly physical therapy session and we were working on trying to get me to walk on my own. I was having trouble squatting and picking up toys without sitting myself down. I hated having to go in squat position and we had been trying to do this for the past several weeks.
I was already able to pull myself up to standing if I had something to assist me, like a couch or something. But to be able to go from sitting position straight to standing...now that was a challenge.

My physical therapist comes once a week for an hour to help me work on things. But mommy works with me everyday to make sure I do the exercises so that I don't fall behind on my milestones. Mommy was worried that I would have trouble walking on my own. But my therapist reassured mommy that I'd be up and about, pushing myself up to stand by next week.

Next week?? Really? Wow. She's crazy, I thought.

The next day, I decided to get out of bed early and surprise mommy. After several attempts, I managed to wake her up and she took me to my play area. She sat me down and asked me to go get the basketball that was on the other side of the mat. I made sure mommy was watching me because what happened next would be a miracle. I pushed myself forward, put my hands down in front of me, lifted up my butt, and stood up. Clap, clap, clap! I stood up on my own with NO assistance! Then, I took a step with my left foot and proceeded to head over to where the basketball was. Mommy's mouth was wide open. Is this really happening?

Yup. I was finally walking. On my own. This was just the beginning.

Boy...mommy's gonna have fun chasing after me now!!! Here I come!! Muahahahahah!
